Operating as a development and investment bank, Turk Eximbank is obliged, within the framework of national legislation, to establish and implement a Compliance Program aimed at the prevention of money laundering, the financing of terrorism, and the proliferation financing of weapons of mass destruction. In this context, under the “Policy on the Prevention of Money Laundering, the Financing of Terrorism and the Proliferation Financing of Weapons of Mass Destruction” approved by the Bank’s Board of Directors, it is aimed to prevent the use of the Bank for money laundering and terrorism financing purposes, and to increase employees’ awareness and knowledge regarding their legal and administrative obligations.
Furthermore, it is aimed to establish the Bank’s policies, procedures, and control mechanisms in compliance with the relevant legislation and regulations issued by competent authorities, and to ensure the necessary compliance and cooperation within the framework of international conventions and correspondent banking relationships. In this respect, maintaining reliable banking activities, protecting the Bank’s corporate reputation, and preserving customer quality constitute the main principles. Policies, procedures, and control mechanisms cover the Head Office, regional directorates, branches, and liaison offices of the Bank.
